I arrive in Chicago after a fairly trouble-free flight. When I am asked at immigration what game theory is, I say it's a branch of economics. I feel like I am "going native" (the process by which computer scientists migrate from "computational X" to "X".
I meet Trevor and Katie in immigration queue; they are going to AAAI, which is "co-located" with GAMES 2008, but in fact is 15 miles away. They are the ones who had the sense to be in the city centre; my conference is out in the boonies of Evanston.
